Arsenal Prepared To Send Jack Wilshere On Loan
The news comes after Wilshere’s omission from Sam Allardyce’s first England squad, and the subsequent warning from his new worldwide manager. The Gunners are spoilt for choice in midfield, with the likes of Francis Coquelin, Santi Cazorla and Aaron Ramsey also vying for two spots behind Mesut Ozil’s preferred number 10 position.
Arsenal are looking to send Jack Wilshere out on loan this season to give the midfielder a chance to revive his injury-plagued career, a club source has told ESPN FC.
Wilshere, who has 34 caps, has started only 80 Premier League games for Arsenal in eight years, making two substitute appearances so far this season.
Wilshere has lost his place as a regular starter after missing almost all of last season with a broken ankle and will be allowed to go on a season-long loan in search of playing time.
Wenger signed Egypt global Mohamed Elneny from Basel in the January transfer window and spent £34m to bring Switzerland star Granit Xhaka to the club earlier in the summer.
However, Arsenal have already rejected interest from one unnamed Premier League club they consider to be a ‘top four rival’.
By its very nature every transfer window will produce winners and losers – that is part of the reason for all the cod drama on television – but some dramas happen to be real and this summer seems to be specialising in personal tales of woe.
England manager, Sam Allardyce named his first national team squad after being appointed by the FA recently.
Wilshere has been granted permission to move on loan, in an attempt to regain fitness and, with it, consistency of performance, according to Sky Sports.
Chambers has had offers from Roma, Valencia, Espanyol and other Premier League clubs but Arsenal are keen for him to go to another English team and play centre back regularly to help his progression.
At this stage of his career, Wilshere needs proper game time, which is not possible at Arsenal in the current circumstances.
Arsenal are willing to let Jack Wilshere leave on loan for the 2016-17 season before the transfer window shuts on Wednesday.
I fully understand Jack’s concerns over playing time as there is a lot of competition for places in the middle of the park following the arrivals of Xhaka and Mohamed Elneny over the past eight months but I’d still be disappointed to see him leave.
