Streets closed as police investigate vehicle crash into Capitol barricade

A driver was taken into custody Friday morning after his auto rammed a security barricade on the south side of the U.S. Capitol building.
The U.S. Capitol Police and the House Sergeant at Arms are aware of and are monitoring the situation.

“Dude just drove full-speed into barricade at Longworth & Capitol full speed”, one person wrote on Twitter.
The vehicle was cleared of hazards and towed from the scene. Some streets in the area were closed temporarily, but the barricade has reopened.
The driver, who is the only occupant of the vehicle, is in custody.
