Joe Scarborough sets his feud with Donald Trump to music
“He said he’d build a wall for us but then he up and ran”, Scarborough sings.
Donald Trump is getting a taste of his own medicine: While the Republican nominee has successfully branded his political enemies with nicknames like “Lyin’ Ted Cruz” and “Crooked Hillary Clinton”, Morning Joe host Joe Scarborough came up with a moniker of his own for Trump, and it appears to be sticking.
Trump also uses tweetstorms to help his messages gain traction, so Scarborough did the same.
The feud between Trump and Scarborough (and Scarborough’s cohost Mika Brzezinski) has been on and off since February.
Twitter users explored the hashtag #AmnestyDon Monday morning after Joe Scarborough called Donald Trump “Amnesty Don” for his “softening” on immigration.
“A lot of people are calling him Amnesty Don”.
A year ago the former Republican congressman was facing criticism for being too friendly with Trump, who was frequently interviewed on the talk show.
Trump, who last week tweeted that Scarborough and Brzezinksi were “two clowns”, offered no immediate comment through a spokeswoman on Thursday.
As for his latest musical venture, CNN notes that while Scarborough has posted the song on his personal social media outlets, it has not been shared through MSNBC’s properties.
The Morning Joe host recently tore into Trump over his apparent softening on immigration policy, which gave birth to the viral hashtag #AmnestyDon earlier this week.
“You got a great song out of it”. And yes, it’s performed by those same insane kids you’ve grown to love from Wijk bij Duurstede, Netherlands whom the natives adoringly call “Morning Joe Music”. He tweeted that Brzezinski was “off the wall, a neurotic and not very bright mess”.
