Windows 10 RS2 makes the update delivery more optimized for PC
The big news today is that Windows Insiders can now use Delivery Optimization to download new builds, OS updates, and app updates not just from other PCs on their local network, but also from other PCs on the internet.
If WUDO is enabled, Microsoft can point others to locally-cached copies of updates and apps on users’ Windows 10 devices that are connected to the Internet.
Recently, with the latest preview build from Microsoft, new improvements for the Delivery Optimization tool would be released from the company and will be available for all users in Redstone 2 update after passing the Insider testing and performing correctly before the public launch of the build.
The Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 14915 that has gone to testers on its Windows Insider “Fast Ring” comes with Delivery Optimisation broadly enabled.
Delivery Optimization, formally dubbed “Windows Update Delivery Optimization” (WUDO) by Microsoft, was part of Windows 10 from the get-go.
Microsoft will not only distribute Windows 10 updates through Windows Update, but updates will also be automatically downloaded and uploaded through computers of other Windows 10 users. The setting will enabled by default, Microsoft announced in a blog on its website. Update files get split into chunks, and then Windows 10 will download each chunk from the device that can deliver it the fastest. “Particularly for PCs with challenging network conditions, this is created to provide a better and more reliable download experience”, Microsoft says. According to Sarkar, the local PC aspect of Microsoft’s peer-to-peer service has reduced update-related internet bandwidth usage between 30 and 50 percent since its November debut. It’s also possible for administrators to expand the definition of their company’s local network beyond the LAN in a single building, allowing computers in one office to download update bits from those in another office.

Fixed an issue where importing favorites into Microsoft Edge from Internet Explorer would fail if the Favorites folder had been redirected to another folder, for example “C:/Users/ user /Documents/Favorites”.
We made a number of improvements to translations, including fixing an issue in Windows Update where it would say “your phone is up to date” in French when confirming that your PC was up to date. But wait insider preview build 14915 have many known issues.
We fixed the issue causing apps to get stuck in a pending state if you move apps between a SD card and internal storage (either direction). Insider builds of Windows 10, however, were exempt until now.
The feature works similarly to the BitTorrent file distribution system. If the freezing problem still occurs, even after you applied the update, you should boot to Safe Mode. After a reboot, Bash should work again.
You may review in Device Manager to see if your PC is affected.
