LG V20 to be world’s first smartphone to feature Google In Apps
Helpfully named In Apps, the new search mode makes it possible to not only search online for information, but to scour the apps you have installed.
Finding contacts and messages is now made much easier with this app. That is not the case as when you use the app, it specifically tells you that your private data will stay private and the app won’t search for it.
Google has also announced that the LG V20 will also feature a dedicated shortcut for this feature, continuing the recent hype buildup surrounding the first Android 7.0 device.
The “In Apps” feature now works with apps like Gmail, Spotify and YouTube, with support for more apps, including Facebook Messenger, LinkedIn, Evernote, and ToDoList coming very soon. You could also use the In Apps feature to quickly pull up a song in Spotify.
The search mode can help users find all sorts of content on their handsets and inside applications, including contacts and messages. Need to find your grocery list?
However, when the upcoming LG V20 phone arrives, its users will be able to access the In Apps search mode directly with a shortcut on the home screen and on the second screen. Now both Google and LG have confirmed that LG V20 will be the first smartphone to come with this feature. In July, for instance, Search gained the ability to show hotel and flight information directly in results.
Google on Wednesday brought a new update to its apps called the “In Apps” at the service of its users.
Alon Menczer and Alexander Lysunets of the Check Point Research Team found that the malware, which goes by the name DressCode, exists in 40 apps available for download from the official Google Play Store. For example, you can search for a keyword in Facebook Messenger, LinkedIn and other social chat apps, in order to find specific historic text.
