Dale Earnhardt Jr. Pulls Out of 2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup Season

Jeff Gordon came out of retirement to fill in for the injured Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Dale Earnhardt Jr., one of the most beloved NASCAR racers in the sport, will not be racing in the remainder of the 2016 season.
Earnhardt has already missed six races and will now skip the remaining 12 events as he recovers.
Hendrick Motorsports said Gordon is again driving for Earnhardt this weekend at Darlington, at Richmond (Sept. 10), Dover (Oct. 2) and Martinsville (Oct. 30).
Gordon will drive in four more races: Darlington, Richmond International Raceway next week, Dover International Speedway on October 2 and at Martinsville Speedway on October 30, the site of his last win.
Earnhardt first began experiencing concussion-like symptoms in late July, and has since been undergoing treatment. I’m working toward that. A crash at MI in June is believed to be the cause of his concussion.
Sadler is locked into the inaugural XFINITY Chase, and the veteran driver of the No. 1 Chevrolet got more recent good news-his primary sponsor, OneMain Financial, will return for another season on the auto in 2017.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. won’t race in 2016, and his continued absence will bring many questions about not only his future, but the future of his team.
The NASCAR community reacted to Earnhardt being out for the rest of the season via Twitter.
