Jared Fogle blames victim’s parents
It would still be insane for Fogle to sue the parents of his victim even if he accepted the blame for his own actions.
According to an AP report, Fogle argues in the civil filing that the victim’s emotional distress may stem from having witnessed her parents fight and abuse alcohol.
He said Fogle’s attorneys want the girl’s parents added as defendants so that they “may share some of the fiscal responsibility” if any damages are awarded in the case.
The victim, who was under 18 years old at the time of the offenses, has not been identified to protect her privacy.
So far, none of Jared Fogle’s overtures from prison have been successful, as the judge denied any reduction in sentence for the former Subway pitchman.
The former weight loss guru’s motion filed on Thursday said that the divorced IN couple “through their actions, caused or significantly contributed to the injuries and damages alleged by Jane Doe IN her Complaint against the Defendants”.
Fogle is now serving a more than 15-year sentence in federal prison in Colorado.
But Krent called it “bizarre” that Fogle’s attorneys are suggesting that her parents’ alleged negligent supervision played a role in her emotional distress. It seeks monetary damages for, among other things, personal injury and emotional distress.
In the filing, he claims that her parents, named in the documents as “J.T. and B.T.”, failed to properly supervise her. A federal appeals court has rejected Fogle’s appeal of his sentence of more than 15 years in prison, finding his arguments unpersuasive.
The sick predator Fogle only seems to care about his own pocketbook and the way the public perceives him, but there are innocent children at the center of this story. Taylor then distributed the sexually explicit images and videos to Fogle.
The parents sued Fogle, Taylor and Taylor’s wife, Angela, in March on behalf of the girl, who is referred to as Jane Doe in the complaint.
Fogle said in the complaint that her parents were liable for her “harmful activities” like alcohol abuse, substance abuse, self-mutilation, and sexual activity.
Prosecutors unearthed documents showing sick texts in which Fogle “craved” sex with 14 and 15-year-olds and was willing to pay hundreds of dollars for it.
