Texas A&M vs. UCLA
If that wasn’t impressive enough, Evans came back into the game and ended up making the game-winning play in overtime by breaking up a pass at the goaline.
After starting the half down 10-9, the Bruins did not get things going until late in the third quarter.
This season the Bruins will be led by quarterback Josh Rosen, defensive lineman Eddie Vanderdoes and offensive tackle Connor McDermott.
Texas A&M’s Justin Evans doesn’t have time for trainers. Bolu Olorunfunmi had the first UCLA touchdown of the game which put the Bruins within striking distance after a 24-16 mark.
The Aggies had a fourth-and-1 from the 1 in overtime when Knight waltzed into the end zone untouched for the score in the opener for both teams.
After converting the 2 points, UCLA seemed to have all the momentum after scoring with 2:39 left in the game. UCLA was able to slow the Aggies on their next drive and prevent a final score.
Overtime was a different issue as Texas A&M looked methodical in their first drive. After UCLA tied the game, Texas A&M went three-and-out to give the ball back to the Bruins at the UCLA 42 with 1:30 to play.
Rosen threw three interceptions while working under heavy pressure from a defense led by Myles Garrett.
Knight wasn’t the only former Sooner to shine for the Aggies on Saturday. The best part is the reaction from the sideline once they realized what he did.
UCLA enters the 2016 season with the number sixteen ranking in the nation, as it attempts to win the Pac 12 conference and climb high enough in the rankings to contend for a national championship playoff spot.
