No glitter and sparkles for me, vows Strictly’s Ed Balls
Anastacia is one of 15 celebrities, including EastEnders’ actress Tameka Empson, Birds of a Feather’s Lesley Joseph and BBC Sport presenter Ore Oduba, taking part in this year’s Strictly.
She explained: “I am dating”.
She has not said how much her fee is worth or which charity it will go to.
“We’ll get to see whether I can do something big again in the future, but in the mean time, what could possibly be bigger than going on Strictly?”. I don’t really show too much, to be honest’. She got on the phone and said: “You are not coming home; you have to finish the day; he would want you to be there”.
He said: “I’m not wearing any sequins, and no glitter, it’s all very classical”. The 31-year-old, from Ireland, has since gone on to present a number of shows including I’m a Celebrity…
“I’ve talked to friends who’ve done the show like Alesha Dixon and Caroline Flack, and she says you both get that connection with someone else and it’s not even like a romantic connection, it’s just like a best friend”.
But the United States star also joke she wouldn’t take the critique lightly.
“They’re all fit and dynamic and know what they’re doing”. She said: “I think it’s a disadvantage to be the only American in this show but I do feel that the United Kingdom has embraced me. In my mind I feel as if I already have but I’m not looking at the scales”.
“I’ve done live TV, I’ve done performing on a stage, I’ve done the House of Commons”.
“I can do line dancing, but unfortunately there’s no category for that”.
“That was our first date and it all happened after that”, she joked. “But I don’t think it counts”.
Anastacia will be supported in the studio by mum Diane, brother Brian and sister Shawn, her constant companion and business partner. “I’m not saying I may not have a moment where I’m going to do it, I don’t know what the show will bring out”.
