Vikings place linebacker Casey Matthews on injured reserve
Harris was a tackle in his first three NFL seasons with the exception of playing guard for the first time at Buffalo last October, when the Vikings were beset with injuries.
Peterson and his teammates reported to training camp on a sunny Saturday at Minnesota State University.
Peterson is now on the wrong side of 30 (as many NFL fans believe), but do you truly think he’s going to slow down? “I always used to say, ‘I wish I could go back to college, ‘ and technically I’m going back to college”. “It was important for me to continue my career in Minnesota, and I can not wait to get on the field in front of Vikings fans again”. Initially disinterested in returning to the team following his reinstatement by the NFL, Peterson softened this spring and took part in several offseason practices with the Vikings last month.
“We’ve got that with a couple guys that are rehabbing and weren’t prepared to take the conditioning test yesterday”. “It’s good”, Vikings coach Mike Zimmer said.
Rhodes had a sly smile when asked about the walk-through and said Wallace and Teddy Bridgewater “got a little upset about that, but I was just messing around with them”.
“He went in there last year and played some and did a good job against Buffalo, ” Zimmer said.
“I have to give kudos to Rob Brzezinski and Ben Dogra, working through this through the summer here, ” said Vikings general manager Rick Spielman.
Arizona Cardinals rookie wide receiver Damond Powell Jr. was wounded by gunfire outside his Ohio home and remained hospitalized, team officials said.
“I’m focusing on looking forward, but (the support from fans was) comforting, ” Peterson said.
The Vikings are holding training camp in Mankato for the 50th consecutive year. While Zimmer wants to add more inside run drills to practices in an effort to shore up the league’s 25th-ranked run defense, he added the Vikings will be careful with Peterson.
Now let’s remember that any adversity Adrian was faced with was because he got himself in trouble, and the Vikings could have decided to cut him once the details of his charges were brought to light, much the same as the Ravens did with Ray Rice, or the Panthers with Greg Hardy. Mentally I’m stronger than I’ve been ever before. They will have a national television audience, though, as this Week 1 game will serve as one of the Monday night football options on September 14.
“You talk about the team finishing 7-9 last year, that wasn’t good enough”, he said.
