Eagles trade Bradford to Vikings
Bradford threw for 3,725 yards with 19 touchdowns with Philadelphia in the 2015 season, that after spending the first four years of his career in St. Louis.
Per a source with knowledge of the situation, Bradford is “thrilled” by the move that abruptly sends him from Philadelphia to Minnesota only eight days before Week One.
Minnesota has been in the market for a quarterback this entire week after starter Teddy Bridgewater was lost for the season with a dislocated knee and torn ACL. Desperate enough to give the Eagles a first-round draft pick in 2017 and a fourth-round pick in 2018.
Bradford’s departure means backup Chase Daniel (University of Missouri) will start the season as Philadelphia’s No. 1 quarterback. Wentz missed the last three preseason games because of broken ribs, but personnel chief Howie Roseman said the team is “very confident” about the recovery track he’s been on. After signing a new two-year, $36 million deal this offseason, he won’t play another snap for the Eagles.
Bradford will now play for his sixth offensive coordinator, Norv Turner, in seven seasons.
Bradford, who has had something of an acrimonious relationship with the Eagles since the Carson Wentz selection, is reportedly happy about the move.
This may make the Eagles hard to watch at times this system but when a team can get a first rounder, they do it.
Hill will likely start the opener on September 11 at Tennessee, though.
