Rashford scores late, earns Man United 1-0 win at Hull
Second-placed Manchester United are behind Chelsea only on goals scored after Marcus Rashford struck deep into second-half stoppage time to snatch a 1-0 win at Hull City.
The goal helped United win 1-0 and Mourinho maintain his 100 per cent start to the Premier League campaign. The 18-year-old Rashford burst onto the scene in the second half of last season, earning a place in England’s European Championship squad, but has been displaced by Ibrahimovic under new coach Jose Mourinho.
Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho says that he would prefer Saturday’s hero Marcus Rashford to be selected to play for England’s Under-21s rather than sitting on the senior squad’s substitute’s bench. When the team was chasing the ball against Leicester in the Community Shield and again tonight, he made a difference for us. “He came on and gave us diversity in our football”, Mourinho told reporters.
“United now have a two-week break due to the worldwide fixtures and Mourinho says whether Rashford starts the next game will depend on who returns fit”.
‘We can start some matches with another player in front of Zlatan but you have to be very dominant to play that way. The important thing is that he’s working very well.
Rashford, who burst onto the scene last season under previous boss Louis van Gaal, would have thanked elder statesman Rooney for his victor.
“I did not play as many games as I hoped and I am obviously disappointed about that”. It’s meant to be a tough test ahead of the first qualifying game against Liechtenstein in León, where I’m sure our fans will give us a warm welcome.
“Look at Rashford penetrating the six yard box there, he must be sitting there scratching his head thinking how can I have no minutes in the PL in the first three games after what I’ve done over the summer and last season”.
Despite having an injury-hit squad, caretaker manager Mike Phelan, who spent 14 years as part of Alex Ferguson’s backroom staff at United, has already picked up two league wins this term.
Marouane Fellaini had to help a woman pushed against an advertising board, while another man had to be carried away after being hurt, amid wild celebrations as Manchester United scored a late victor against Hull City on Saturday night.
“We deserved it and in a more comfortable way”.
Think they’re a bit pleased? We tried and tried and got it. I kept Ashley Young on the bench, I kept Memphis Depay at home and the players are better than what they showed last season.
He’ll expect to be able to pull off the million-dollar play every time being a player of his enormous ability, but if he releases the shackles of his own value then the silky footballer Jose Mourinho has brought back to Old Trafford will show what a talent he is.
