Surprise! Ravens bring back Forsett, who was cut on Saturday
After working out Devin Hester on back-to-back days, the Ravens saw enough to believe he can help their uncertain return game. The 33-year-old has never been a big contributor on offense and wasn’t even targeted in his five games for Atlanta last season.
Baltimore presumably signed Hester after not finding a returner to their liking in training camp and the preseason. Or, if they add any others to IR from this point forward, those players would also be candidates for return.
Former draft pick Arthur Brown, a linebacker, was waived as was former Navy quarterback Keenan Reynolds, who is trying to make it in the National Football League as a wide receiver.
Bears: Former USF quarterback B.J. Daniels, now a receiver, was waived. The Ravens hoped he might make an impact on special teams as a return man as well.
The Ravens were pleased that Reynolds was not claimed off waivers after being released Saturday. Driskel finished his college career at Louisiana Tech.
The Baltimore Ravens have signed former Navy star Keenan Reynolds to their practice squad.
Third-year wide receiver Michael Campanaro, the presumed favorite for the primary return job, was placed on injured reserve Saturday with a calf strain. He’ll miss a minimum of eight games.
If Baltimore is able to get him back on a cheaper deal and he can provide the same production he’s given them over the last two years, it’s a smart move by the team.
