Texas businessman finds cellphone that fell from plane
Wilson said he assumed he may have left it in a rental auto until he opened the “Find My iPhone” app and discovered his device was still operational and appeared to be just outside of Joplin, Texas.
Ben Wilson, owner of the Gas Corporation of America, and his pilot Will Warnock were flying from Houston to Kickapoo Airport in a Beechcraft Bonanza airplane.
The Wichita Falls Times Record News reported Thursday that Ben Wilson says his cell phone still works.
Wilson only noticed the phone was missing after landing.
“The pressure popped and a newspaper flew out but I didn’t see the phone go”.
The pair set out Tuesday and ended up in a rural pasture.
“It was by the side of the road south of Jacksboro, under a mesquite tree”, he said.
Aside from some scratched corners the phone was apparently unharmed and Wilson accounts its hardiness to the Mophie battery case he’d placed it into previously. Getting close to the location, Wilson jumped over a fence and found himself face to face with the donkey.
