Feeling supersonic? Watch first clip of new Oasis film
Relying on the trove of footage that’s documented the brothers’ careers, Supersonic looks like another emotional journey through the struggles of fame and the music industry.
Supersonic is in cinemas on October 3 and it’s produced by Asif Kapadia, the award-winning filmmaker behind Amy, the Oscar-winning film about the late singer Amy Winehouse, and Senna, the acclaimed documentary about Brazilian racing driver Ayrton Senna.
According to the Guardian, Whitecross said that Coldplay’s Chris Martin is serving as a mediator between Liam and Noel and added that a reunion is a certainty in his mind. It will happen, I’m sure.
“Noel said everyone is always coming up to them giving them advice about how they are going to mend this relationship”. So it’s a wonder we’ve had to wait for one on the scale of Supersonic for so long. “Liam was like “He’s full of s**t” and Noel’s like “He’s full of s**t”. Liam is like ‘No f**k it we were great’. In a Q&A, director Whitecross said: “Neither of [the Gallagher brothers] have discounted the idea of getting back together”. There really was something magical about those first two albums and B-sides in particular, although I think there are still some fantastic gems to be found in the later works as well. “The idea of never seeing them again for me is impossible”.
Meanwhile, Noel performed on stage with Paul Weller during his headline set at Festival No 6 in Portmeirion, Wales, on Sunday night (04.09.16).
