Kelly Ripa Announces ‘Live’ Co-Host News
In April, it was announced Strahan was leaving his post on Live! for the GMA anchor position, a move that caught Ripa by surprise. It was presumed producers decided they should get his replacement settled in as quickly as possible, what with Ripa’s contract coming up in 2017 and her being mad as a wet hen as to how in-the-dark she’d been kept during the whole process of moving Strahan to help shore up GMA ratings.
When asked about his strained relationship with Ripa following his departure, Strahan, 44, declined to comment.
With Kelly and Michael, former show co-host Michael Strahan made his debut on Good Morning America on Tuesday morning. He told the publication there were “so many things” he loved about working on “Live!”. That victor will, at long last, get a chance to co-host with Ripa. Ripa, 45, was absent from the show during that episode and did not return to the show until April 26.
The incident reportedly left relations between Ripa and Strahan strained, and he exited “Live!” in May, months earlier than expected.
“Now it’s time to put your mouths were your thumbs are”, she quipped. When she returned to her seat opposite Strahan, Ripa said she “gained perspective” from the break.
“There’s been a total Ripa meltdown”, one source said. Roberts told her new co-worker, ‘It is great to have you full-time with us; it does feel like the first day of school around here, doesn’t it?’ She said that the incident sparked a much greater conversation about communication, consideration, and respect on the show.
Michael Strahan received a warm welcome from his fellow anchors on his first day as a full-time anchor on “Good Morning America” on Tuesday.
