Chief Keef hologram concert to be held in secret location
A City of Chicago spokesperson said the city called Redmoon and asked it not to hold the event because Keef is an unacceptable role model and promotes violence. Instead, the rapper-real name Keith Cozart-will appear via hologram at the concert, the location of which has not yet been disclosed.
The Keef concert was set up as a fundraiser for and in memory of a rapper friend of Keef’s slain in gun violence recently as well as a toddler who died in the aftermath. It’s become an increasingly unusual situation, but it’s all for a good cause, and who doesn’t want to see Keef perform as a hologram?
But the status of Saturday’s concert is up in the air after an earlier benefit planned for Chicago’s Redmoon Theater was scuttled under pressure from neighborhood groups and local officials, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.
Will the much talked about Chief Keef concert go on after all? “And there’s gonna be several of them”. The Instagram video also alleges that the original performance was “banned by the Mayor of Chicago”. “So if it can’t happen right now and the city is that adamant about shutting it down, all I’m gonna say is at some point one day it will happen”.
Chief Keef claimed he will be beamed to audiences at a secret “Stop the Violence” gig. A Hammond police lieutenant said later Saturday that the promoter of the hip hop event assured him that the event did not involve Chief Keef.
One is for not paying child support and the other is for skipping a pretrial hearing – on charges of driving under the influence of drugs. Chief Keef and David will match the money raised through the show and donate it to the Harris and Carr families and select South Side anti-violence charities, according to the press release.
