Ex 49er was in sandwich fight before later assault arrest
The 29-year-old tight end was arrested in San Francisco, by authorities after getting into a scuffle with two hotel guests at the Marriott Hotel. He was booked into the San Francisco County Jail, where his bail was set at $178,000 bail, ESPN reported.
This isn’t the first time that Miller has found himself in trouble with the law.
The incident came Sunday night when Miller, who was apparently intoxicated, entered a Marriott hotel on Fisherman’s Wharf in San Fran. The couple’s adult son, staying in the next room, told Miller he was at the wrong room.
The 70-year-old father came to his son’s defense, Gatapandan said, and Miller punched him. Both men were taken to the hospital to be treated for their injuries.
Police located Miller across the street a different hotel after he had fled the scene.
A manager at the restaurant Tommy’s Joynt in San Francisco told Jenna Lyons of the San Francisco Chronicle that Miller walked into the establishment around midnight Monday – three hours before he was arrested – and stared at the buffet line for about 20 minutes while seated a table.
The 49ers, who have been the subject of a lot of attention in recent weeks following Colin Kapernick’s refusal to stand for the national anthem, released Miller overnight.
FILE – This Sunday, Dec. 27, 2015, file photo shows San Francisco 49ers fullback Bruce Miller (49) following an NFL football game against the Detroit Lions in Detroit. “We are gathering relevant facts of this matter and will continue to monitor the situation”. He joined the team back in 2011 as a fullback.
Switching to tight end because coach Chip Kelly’s offense does not include a fullback, Miller had made the 53-man roster. Miller allegedly threw the woman’s cellphone and smashed it during an argument at a Santa Clara hotel.
