Rumor on Paige Possibly Quitting WWE

After months of speculation regarding the future of WWE Superstar Alberto Del Rio, his exit is finally confirmed with both WWE and Rio confirming the decision on their social media accounts.

Alberto Del Rio also took to Twitter to announce that the split was amicable, at least on the surface. I want to enjoy my family and also, I wasn’t comfortable with my second tenure with WWE.I spoke with my father, who’s the one that always give me great advice and that same day I chose to talk with the board of directors. How about a move to TNA, a company in a much better position today than it has been in years?

He returned to the WWE in late 2015 to much fanfare, winning the aforementioned match over John Cena.

It also didn’t help that WWE rumors indicate that the WWE tried to force Paige to break up with Alberto Del Rio or risk losing her position in the company. “Who am I kidding, it was bad”, one user tweeted. Heh. He later was a member of the League of Nations, a group of heels from different countries that seemed to do little for any of the participants. It was clear by this time that Triple H had convinced Vince McMahon to give up on Del Rio.

Del Rio was suspended beginning August 18 for thirty days along with his fellow Superstar and real-life girlfriend Paige, who committed the same violation. “… They’re probably trying to maneuver to where she can be released and she can work elsewhere, because she is under contract for a long time, and WWE obviously would probably not want her working the entire term of the contract”. Del Rio was inexplicably paired with Zeb Colter and saddled with the bad MexAmerica gimmick, and then he was put in The League of Nations faction that failed to get over.

Now, sure, Del Rio ended up gaining the United States title like three days later on Smackdown, but he lost it again a few weeks later at the Royal Rumble.

According to the former WWE champ, the exit negotiations went so well the door is open for a return someday.

Del Rio (real name José Alberto Rodríguez) made a huge splash when he initially debuted with the company in 2010.
