Trump Slammed for Talk With Russia-Funded Network
Appearing on a television network funded by the Russian government, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump lashed out at what he described as the dishonest American press.
In the RT interview, Trump downplayed reports that Russian Federation may be trying to influence the general election, pointing a finger instead at Democrats for continuing that narrative.
He also suggested that the allegation was politically motivated. The Trump campaign claims that King tricked Trump into allowing the interview to appear on the Russian network, while others say that the GOP candidate’s appearance was not accidental at all.
He added, “I hope that if they are doing something I hope that somebody’s going to be able to find out so they can end it, because that would not be appropriate”.
Trump’s interview with King was released on Thursday and promoted as an exclusive for RT America, which has been scrutinized for promoting Kremlin policy. “Who knows? But I think that it’s pretty unlikely”, Trump said.
Trump was speaking with veteran broadcaster Larry King and was asked what has surprised him most about running for president. According to CNN, Trump spokesman Jason Miller said, “Mr. Trump was never told it would be shared anywhere else”.
Another unusual aspect of the situation was that many pundits have accused Russian agents of hacking into the computers of the Democratic National Committee. I don’t know anything about it. You tell me: “Who hacked?”
Trump and Putin: The new bromantics? “I have absolutely no opinion on that”. Johnson would need to earn 15% support in polls to make the stage, an effort seemingly hampered when he failed to identify the war-torn city of Aleppo, Syria, in a live television interview.
These factors have caused both Hillary Clinton and numerous media figures to alternatively question and highlight Trump’s cozy relationship with the Russian president.
Watch Conway’s full response on the matter to CNN below. “We have a divided country”.
Corey Lewandowski, Trump’s former campaign manager, echoed those sentiments, saying that Putin was a “stronger leader” than Obama. I already said he is really very much of a leader. “I mean, I wish she did a phenomenal job and we wouldn’t have all these problems”.
King’s show, PoliticKing, is produced by Ora TV, which was founded by King and Mexican media magnate Carlos Slim in 2012.
