Mel B Explains Why Spice Girls Reunion is Missing Two Spice Girls
But Posh (Victoria Beckham) and Sporty (Mel C) sadly made a decision to opt out, so this reunion probably won’t be as show-stopping as their throwback performance at the 2012 Summer Olympics.
Mel B, a.k.a. Scary Spice, recently posted a picture of herself with band mates Geri “Ginger” Horner and Emma “Baby” Bunton. So when Mel B stopped by The Late Late Show on Thursday night, host James Corden quickly got down to brass tacks: Is there going to be a reunion, even a three-piece one?
The reunion tour hasn’t been booked yet, but Mel B thinks they’ll probably start in London considering they’re a British band.
With two of the Spice Girls missing, Corden and his other guest, Michael Sheen, offered to fill in-though Corden’s other suggested Substitute Spice, Adele, seemed more compelling. “My other two fellow lovely ladies.” she added after a hearty laugh. “Let me correct that”.
“I don’t think we could ever replace Sporty or Posh, but I’d like to invite some people up on stage with us”. So they gracefully said, ‘You three go ahead and do it.’ We’re girl power.
Mel B says fans can expect a partial Spice Girls reunion this fall.
“For me, the absolute pinnacle of my Spice existence was being watched by a billion people around the globe belting out Spice Up Your Life on top of a black cab at the 2012 London Olympics”. It is of course a very lucrative opportunity too. “Why can’t we just be remembered for our incredible achievements in the ’90s?”
