Manchester United forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic misses his PSG salary
The former Sweden worldwide swapped the French capital for Manchester this summer and has been an immediate hit at Old Trafford, scoring four goals in his first four competitive matches in English football, but suggested he took a pay cut to reunite with Jose Mourinho this summer.
Indeed, Zlatan has openly admitted that the only thing he misses about PSG is the monumental salary (reportedly £1.1million a month by the end of his four-year stint) he was on at the Ligue 1 champions.
Ibrahimovic moved to Manchester United on a free transfer in July after four seasons with PSG, winning the league title in each of his campaigns with the club, among other honours.
The Swedish striker will lead the line for the Red Devils at Old Trafford looking to continue his fine start to life in the Premier League.
Despite his salary drop, Ibrahimovic remains one of the best-paid players in the world and has made an instant impact at United, where he has been reunited with his former Inter Milan manager Jose Mourinho.
“I miss my last salary from Paris”, Ibrahimovic said, grinning. “That is what I miss”, quipped the enigmatic Swede.
The record-breaking striker is United’s top goalscorer so far this season, and is likely to be a key figure in their much-anticipated derby game against Manchester City on Saturday (10 September 2016).
Ibrahimovic also went on to discuss his former club’s chances in the Champions League ahead of their clash with Arsenal.
“The team is very strong, they bought some good players and the philosophy is the same – win everything and push for the Champions League”, said Ibrahimovic.
United have taken maximum points in that time but it is not enough to stop Ibrahimovic missing one thing about his Parisian lifestyle.
