With Akron next, No. 10 Wisconsin looks to keep momentum
Graduate of Knox College and University of Kansas.
The stagnant offense that Miles predicted would change instead looked like the same old mess in the 16-14 loss to the Wisconsin Badgers, bringing down heavy criticism on the quarterback and on the men charged with getting more consistency out of the position.
Natson – who sat out last season after transferring from Utah State – and Tindal were teammates at Boyd Anderson High School.
Though the defense yielded just 16 points and created three turnovers, it also allowed the Badgers to hold the ball for the majority of the game (36 minutes, 57 seconds). “It was a huge play”. “And I’m certainly aware of what’s going on and what’s being said, etcetera”.
On Saturday, Akron attempts to continue their winning ways in 2016 by doing their best impression of Western Michigan by knocking off a B1G opponent in the 1-0 Wisconsin Badgers.
The NFL Draft expert was at Lambeau Field for the Tigers’ loss to Wisconsin, and he really pins the result on the starting quarterback.
Wisconsin head coach Paul Chryst spoke highly of Akron’s offense on Thursday afternoon in talking about the defense’s preparation against Akron. “I recognize that he’s got to still come”. He also had six touchdowns and just one interception. And then with Ethan Pocic in the middle, I think that five is going to really mature and turn into something special. “But he offered me a spot and I took it on the spot because this was what I wanted”. This week will be their first test of the year with actual expectations.
“It was a pretty tough transition at first”, Connelly said.
“I talked to him this morning”, Adams said earlier this week. The Badgers have proved that time and again. Before the 2015 season, coaches awarded him a scholarship. The line, with two new tackles, struggled throughout the game. Edwards sustained a foot injury.
LSU suffered its first loss of the season last week, but things could have been a lot worse. “Even though it was the first play, I didn’t have to spend all Friday night worrying and weeks leading up worrying”. We just need to do it.
Last play: Miles addressed LSU’s last offensive play, saying Harris did a good job of evading a pass rusher.
Wisconsin dominated the time of possession battle by a margin of almost a quarter, holding onto the ball for 37 minutes to LSU’s 23.
That said, Harris was not the only problem on Saturday. The last regular-season loss to a FCS opponent for JSU came on November 16, 2013, at then-No. “Hitting the ball, we did not punt consistently”.
The secondary played very well against Travin Dural and Malachi Dupree last Saturday (eight catches, 74 yards combined).
Miles then said this about his junior starter: “He has the tools that every quarterback would want to have”. And we’ve got a smart group. Watt finished with one quarterback hurry and seven tackles. “He’s been in the system for a while”. Ryan’s shown improvement since I’ve been here.
Many will be watching the SEC this week to see if teams around the league can make that leap.
Connelly’s teammates enjoyed seeing “uncle” have success. Fellow linebacker T.J. Uncle Connelly is ready.
But, like his play on the field, Connelly has taken the jokes in stride. It’s about actions. I think that (the players) see that we can be a lot better.
“We’ve had conversations about the timing”, Connelly said. The nice thing about football is it’s who’s going to work best as a team.
