Accused teen ‘doctor’ arrested on new charges in Virginia
Malachi Love-Robinson, 19, was arrested on Friday after attempting to purchase a Jaguar at a vehicle dealership in Virginia, the Associated Press reported, citing Stafford County Sheriff’s officials.
A Florida teen who was accused earlier this year of posing as a doctor was arrested at a northern Virginia vehicle dealership Friday, police said. The employees called the sheriff’s office after looking up Love-Robinson’s name in an internet search.
Love-Robinson, who officials say was known to some unsuspecting clients as “Dr. Love”, was arrested in mid-February after he allegedly gave a medical examination to an undercover sheriff’s office agent posing as a patient. A call to her credit company revealed that someone had recently spent something around $1,200 dollars on two iPads and a smart phone-purchases that she claims she knew nothing about.
The teen, who told the auto dealership he is a 19-year-old doctor, is being held at Rappahannock Regional Jail, Lenhart said.
Love-Robinson faced legal trouble in Palm Beach County, Florida, where he was accused of impersonating a doctor at a local hospital and working as a massage therapist without a license at a rehab facility.
Malachi Love-Robinson, the teenager accused of practicing medicine without a license and stealing from people, is back in jail, yet again, this time in Virginia.
Love-Robinson has denied the charges, saying he never said he was a medical doctor.
His trial on charges of practicing medicine without a license has been delayed until November while his attorney considers a possible insanity defense, according to media reports.
