“Kidney-selling time” again, ready for a new iPhone?

There aren’t many major differences between the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, except the size and the camera. In fact different carriers are also offering free trade in programs for iPhone 7. I understand, thanks to Jonny Ive’s video presentation on the Apple website, that AirPods are meant to be what I’ll call a “nodal” device: another link the the chain of Apple devices being used – iPhone, Apple Watch, AirPods, all operating in wireless unity.

According to Apple, the AirPods can provide up to 5 hours of battery life with a single charge.

The new features that the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus get are useful.

As both handsets offer premium designs, the iPhone 7 with its aluminum unibody chassis and the S7 with its glass and smooth metal finish, it is not surprising to discover that both are extremely thin devices.

When it unveiled the iPhone 7 on Wednesday, Apple sent shockwaves through the tech world by getting rid of the headphone jack and pushing consumers to its Lightning port. And although a piece of the Airpods can work without the other one, losing one of the two could cost you money, as you need to buy again, the Business Insider reported.

The iPhone 7 also ships with an adaptor, so you can use your old headphones or earbuds – though this makes the jack a little more cumbersome as well as meaning that your headphones are plugged into the bottom of the unit.

Most people don’t realise it how useful it is to have a waterproof phone until they use one.

Cue AirPods, a pair of Bluetooth-enabled earphones that go on sale in October for $159. If they live up to Apple’s claims, they’re a technological marvel, tiny and expensive.

We already know that the Apple Lightning charger design is bad.

Despite having the required IP67 certification, Apple is not the first company to deny iPhone 7 warranty caused as a result of liquid damage. “Along with its high cost (estimated at over US$30-40) and the necessity for Apple to enhance the added value of high-end iPhone models, we expect only high-end new iPhone models (30-40% of them) to have a dual-camera next year”.

The iPhone 7 may not have been revolutionary, but analysts believe there’s enough to encourage existing customers to upgrade their phones and even convert some Android users, which might ultimately curb Apple’s declining sales. Apple can increase the intrinsic value of its shares over the years by simultaneously repurchasing shares and paying out dividends – just as it has been doing since 2012. The courage to move on, do something new, that betters all of us.
