Angels’ Trout involved in car crash after game, not hurt
Trout did not play in last night’s Angels versus Cincinnati Reds game prior to the crash. Trout apparently couldn’t avoid hitting the woman’s vehicle while trying to avoid another crash.
Angels general manager Billy Eppler confirmed the report.
Two people were hospitalized and emergency crews used the Jaws of Life to extract one person from a vehicle, the Orange County Register reported, in the 55 freeway incident.
Video obtained by KCBS-TV showed firefighters rescuing a woman trapped in the Chevrolet. She was transported to a local hospital.
According to the USA Today, Trout was traveling roughly 55 miles per hour when traffic stopped in front of him due to another crash. In a statement, he added that Trout “feels fine”.
Trout was seen walking around after the crash.
The Angels said Trout was OK. He also said that Trout was expected to join the team on its trip to Seattle beginning on Thursday.
He is batting.319 with 25 homers and 21 stolen bases this season. Although the club is nowhere near the American League playoff race, Trout has continued to receive a momentous amount of praise as an American League MVP candidate.
