Pirates not going to Big 12
We’ll probably know more about the hopefuls by October 17, when the Big 12 Board of Directors has its next scheduled meeting. The Rams need to bank on a Big 12 Network being formed, and maybe even 14 teams to get the call up.
These universities are Air Force, BYU, UCF, Cincinnati, Colorado State, UConn, Houston, Rice, South Florida, SMU, Temple and Tulane are still in the running.
“As you know, we have never commented on who was or was not involved”, Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby told Kirk Bohls of the Austin-American Statesman. The league is considering expanding beyond its 10 member schools.

UNLV has been a member of the Mountain West since 1990. Other reports said the league would consider football-only members, a scenario that could involve schools like Air Force and CT.
