Clapham Common: Every advert at Tube station replaced with pictures of cats
After raising more than $30,000, CATS managed to crowdfund its dream into reality and has now put up cat posters in Clapham Common station.
Travelling on the London Underground in summer can be a hot and sweaty experience, but anybody commuting through Clapham Common station will feel cool as a cat now that nearly all adverts have been replaced by posters of feisty felines.
One London tube station is a great place if you love cats, but would be a nightmare if they weren’t your cup of tea.
Feline faces: All adverts at Clapham Common have been replaced by pictures of cats.
MORE: You can now buy snozzcumbers at Morrison’s for 41p each.
CATS has teamed up with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, and Cats Protection to show the photos, which are of stray cats that need a home.
“Wouldn’t it be great not to worry about the holiday we can’t afford”, explains CATS, “about the vehicle we don’t need, or the body we don’t have?”
“We tried to imagine a world where public space made you feel good”, Glimpse founder James Turner was quoted as saying in a press release sent to Mashable.
Now, that is quite a lot of money for a self-confessed “dumb” project, but CATS are hoping this will be perceived as something a lot more significant. We want to inspire people to think differently about the world and realise they have the power to change it’.
