He also exhorted the people to outrightly reject the call given by the United Akali Dal in its convention to fight elections on a common front because the extremist forces are out to again play havoc with the peaceful atmosphere in Punjab. Castigating Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), the Deputy Chief Minister said that Arvind Kejriwal is suffering from confrontationist nature who has nothing at all to do with the welfare and progress of Punjab. He also stressed on the need for an agriculture policy of the state. “It was due to expulsion of people like Dr Daljit Singh from AAP that people were disappointed with the party”, he added. “With 67 MLAs you could not perform, You dont have it in you- So Get out of the Way”. “But, I am not afraid of him”, said Kejriwal.
Brar claimed he had “ample evidence” regarding Congress state chief’s illegal assets overseas.
Singh and cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu had recently launched a new party, Awaaz-e-Punjab, with an eye on Punjab polls.
The party also came down hard on Arvind Kejriwal’s AAP, dubbing it as “a bunch of opportunists” whose real face is getting exposed in the wake of sex scandals and serious charges of financial irregularities against their leaders. “The new forum has been floated by my husband and I have not joined it as yet”, she said.
Punjab Congress chief Amarinder Singh said, “Their status looks like that of a confused and undecided couple not sure whether it should marry or just carry on with the relationship to keep all future options open”.
