Royal Caribbean worker dies in lifeboat drill in France
The circumstances surrounding the lifeboat becoming detached from the fifth deck while the five people were on board is also unclear. For other Harmony of the Seas crew members are receiving medical treatment, the cruise company said.
It is understood all of the victims are Royal Caribbean International staff.
He identified the dead crew member as a 42-year-old Filipino. Two from the hospitalized seamen were in critical condition too with life-threatening injuries.
All five were claimed to be in the lifeboat when it became detached, the spokesman added.

Local naval firefighters told the AP one person died, two were seriously injured and two were more lightly injured.
One crew died and another four are injured after lifeboat crashed on the deck of the world’s biggest cruise liner Harmony of the Seas at the dock of Marseille.
The 227,000-ton ship, which is operated by Florida-based Royal Caribbean only began cruising in May.
It is higher than a 25-storey building, and longer than the height of the Eiffel Tower.
The ship is so large it boasts seven “neighborhoods” – including a tree-lined Central Park filled with restaurants.
