Apple Changes Course with watchOS 3

Upon its release today, watchOS 3 brings consumers increased speed and a new and improved Control Centre to replace “Glances” of previous versions. Also, the new Dock is customisable and supports up to 10 apps. WatchOS3 comes equipped with several new apps, such as Apple’s meditation app Breathe.

As part of its annual launch announcement, Apple (AAPL) launched the Apple Watch 2 on September 7, 2016. Also, with WatchOS 3, you have to swipe left or right on a face to swap between watch faces. Activity Sharing will let other users see how you’re progressing toward daily goals. It works just like the app for iPhone. Depending on how much inventory of first generation Apple Watch Best Buy is sitting on, there could be still better deals on Black Friday 2016.

Apple Watch series 1 takes care of you and monitors your health the Apple Watch is always with you and monitor your heart rate more easily. But I’m surprised and delighted to say that two of the changes Apple made directly address complaints I’ve levied at the Apple Watch in the past.

In a continued effort to make its products work with everyone, Apple has tweaked the Activity app to work with wheelchair users. And Apple has added a number of goodies on that front as well. There are also customized workouts for wheelchair users with “time to roll” instead of “time to stand” notifications. You can draw letters with your finger to write words, apply visual themes to messages like fireworks or falling confetti, and send a range of Disney-themed stickers. It hasn’t solved why you’d want to use apps on your wrist instead of your phone, but it makes them a lot easier to use so that you might just opt for them more often. A firm press of the watch still opens the face customiser, just as before.

While a press of the side button opens the dock, a long press launches another new app, SOS, which automatically calls the emergency services.

Apple Pay: Apple Pay is now available within apps on Apple Watch, allowing you to make in-app purchases directly on your watch. Equally, it will not unlock until you have entered the Watch’s PIN or password after putting it back on.
