Colin Kaepernick Kneels for National Anthem on MNF
The “Star-Spangled Banner” is back in the news with the decision by San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick to kneel during the national anthem – not to mention the fact that many fellow NFL players have chose to follow suit.
Kid Rock has been an open patriot throughout his career and even penned “Born Free” as a tribute to the military. “There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder”.
Kaepernick began the process during the preseason and carried it over into Monday night’s game where he and the 49ers blanked the newly-moved Los Angeles Rams, 28-0. In the video above, Kid Rock can be seen exclaiming, “Man, f-k Colin Kaepernick”, while raising his middle finger in the air, which was met with an enthusiastic reaction from the baseball stadium crowd.
Once again, his teammate Eric Reid joined him. “Colin Kaepernick’s a good backup quarterback”. Four players from the Miami Dolphins knelt during the National Anthem on September 11 and Denver Broncos linebacker Brandon Marshall also participated in the protest against police brutality.
Kid Rock has marketed himself as a patriotic American rock artist for years. Colin’s entitled to his opinions and reasoning, though, and at the very least we should be doing more than just blindly saying “f*ck Colin Kaepernick” instead of trying to figure out how we as a nation can rectify the problems that are causing Colin to take said knees instead of standing with his hand over his heart. Mind you, he’s protesting a song about a country that gives you the freedom to clap back at what you dislike about the country, but that point is lost on people like Trump.and Kid Rock, as it turns out.
Who’s gonna help me get my stuff? Noting not much has changed in the political system in recent presidencies, he told Rolling Stone, “My feeling: let the motherf-king business guy run it like a f-king business”. “And his campaign has been entertaining as s-t”. Although Kid Rock’s outburst came right before the first National Football League season game, Kaepernick and others did not stop their protest.
