PS4 will be able to go HDR even without Pro
“I believe we have the best value this holiday, and I think we’re going to have the most powerful box next year”.
Gartner Analyst Jon Erensen noted that there was “not a lot of discussion” about the benefits of upgrading to the PlayStation Pro for gamers who already own a PS4.
“Netflix will launch a new app at the launch of PS4 Pro that supports 4K”.
As soon as more specifications are released by Sony for the new PlayStation camera we will keep you up-to-date as always. Not only is Sony pushing the idea of 4K gaming, like their competitor Microsoft with the Xbox Scorpio, but they are also pushing HDR gaming. The Xbox One S is $100 less than the PS4 Pro and supports 4K resolution streaming and Blu-ray, but doesn’t have the horsepower to play games at 4K.
Games displayed in 4K have four times as many pixels in each frame as 1080p HD images, making them look crisper and clearer on television, as informed by the Sony. Sony have confirmed all current games will be compatible with both the original PS4 and the Pro.
Sony Interactive Entertainment executive Masayasu Ito stated, in an interview with Game Impress Watch, “It will be different for each title”. The “standard console moving forward”, the Slim is a smaller, more energy efficient version of the previous Playstation 4 consoles.
The PlayStation 4 Pro is available on 10 November and costs £349 in the United Kingdom and $399 in the US.
Project Scorpio, on the other hand, boasts 6 teraflops of GPU, which will deliver 4K gaming and support virtual reality.
