Businessman finds iPhone which fell out of plane during US flight
Ben Wilson, a Texas businessman, said he was riding in a Beechcraft Bonanza airplane from Houston to Wichita Falls, Texas, on Tuesday when a change in pressure caused a door latch to open a few inches.
Upon landing, Mr Wilson realised his iPhone had been sucked out of the plane during the mishap.
John Kidwell, VP of sales at Gas Corp of America, said they wondered for a while that it might have been left in a rental vehicle. Wilson said, “When I hopped the fence a donkey came over and kind of escorted me around”. Soon they found the phone.
The iPhone was sitting in plain sight in the pasture, nestled in thick grass below a mesquite tree that Wilson believes helped cushion the device’s long fall.
As for the phone, he added that it was a little battered around the edges but still worked. “We used his Find My iPhone app and learned it was still alive”, a colleague of Wilson said, “Later I checked the iCloud and could see it was outside of Joplin (Texas)”. He’s happy to have his phone and his irreplaceable photos back in hand, but he’s most happy to have met that unusual, friendly donkey. “We made a new friend and I got my phone back”.
