Bollywood women stars give thumbs up for ‘Pink’
Further speaking about national award winning filmmaker Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, who is making his Bollywood debut with ‘PINK, ‘ Shoojit said that it was music composer Shantanu Moitra who introduced him to Aniruddha.
Taapsee said initially she had doubts over the title Pink, as she thought it furthermore stereotypes the colour with women, but by the end of shooting the film her doubts were cleared.
Without killing the element of suspense about Bachchan’s role, Shoojit said his part in the film is doubtful and beyond this he can not reveal any details. “Congratulations and I feel this will be a big success, so be ready for it”, Kangana said in the message to Andrea, according to Bollywoodlife. “We took a chance as we thought he has a certain trust factor as we worked together in “Piku”,” Shoojit told PTI. This is not a gimmick kind of a film. “The name itself clearly spells out the positioning of our channel and we look forward to an awesome response for this property”.
This is the first time that the megastar’s name is appearing after other actors in a film, which has him as the lead. He jumps over it.
The film is about three girls – Taapsee Pannu, Andrea Tariang and Kirti Kulhari – and how their lives change after coming face-to-face with gender violence. The actor, who has been in the industry for many decades, continues to play some of the grittiest characters, regardless of commercial diktats.
Also spotted was director Shoojit Sircar at the screening along with many celebs from the telly land.
