Boy, 6, missing in Victoria
Six-year-old Ben Dean has been found after he disappeared from his Beechworth home yesterday afternoon.
Ben Dean, who has Down syndrome, was last seen at the large rural property on Chiltern Road, Wooragee, 280 kilometres north of Melbourne, at about 5pm on Wednesday.
Police will accompany the boy to Albury Hospital.
“The community would be very concerned and that’s something”.
Conditions had worsened last night as a search for a missing six-year-old boy continued.
Police, SES and CFA members failed to find the six-year-old in a search of Ben’s parent’s large rural property.
The police airwing was called-in to assist with the search.
His mother spread the word of his disappearance on a local Facebook page, appealing for anyone in the Woolshed Falls and Wooragee areas to look out for her missing son.
‘There have been a number of incidents and a number of rescues, 17 rescues have had to be made by emergency services personnel by those caught in flood waters, ‘ Mr Lapsley said during an update on the flood situation.
He is described as blond, about 120cm tall, wearing a red polar fleece jumper and navy blue track trousers and Blundstone boots.
To prevent confusion and traffic congestion, local SES crews had asked that people in the area who wanted to help in the search contact the Beechworth police station before going out alone.
