Donald Trump backtracks on promise to release full medical record
He had previously been reluctant to release medical records, as well as additional information relating to his taxes and businesses.
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump released the results of a detailed physical examination he took last Thursday before Hillary Clinton collapsed in New York City.
Trump, 70, is 6 feet, 3 inches tall and weighs 236 pounds, the letter by Dr. Harold Bornstein, dated September 13, said.
Bornstein past year wrote a glowing letter about Trump’s health during the Republican nomination race, declaring him to be the “healthiest individual elected to the presidency”.
Mr Trump had avoided referring to Mrs Clinton’s medical problems but on Wednesday night made a veiled attack on her health. “We play golf together-the great quarterback; he’s a phenomenal guy, great athlete”, Trump said, plugging his relationship, as he does often, with the Patriots quarterback and longtime golfing buddy.
The Trump campaign used the release to take a swipe at Hillary Clinton, lauding the billionaire’s ability to “endure – uninterrupted – the rigors of a punishing and unprecedented presidential campaign”. But not now. Trump’s campaign manager Kellyanne Conway was on MSNBC Wednesday calling for a release of full medical reports on Hillary Clinton. His last colonoscopy was performed on July 10, 2013 which was normal and revealed no polyps.
Trump’s running mate Mike Pence said he plans to release records from a recent physical examination. When asked why Donald thinks he has the stamina for the job, the ex-Celebrity Apprentice star said, “I feel as good today as I did when I was 30”.
Trump and Clinton, who turns 69 next month, are among the oldest presidential candidates in American history.
The letter doesn’t disclose other information typically included in health reports, such as details about Trump’s eating and exercise habits and vaccination history. As a cardiologist, 25 years ago when I went into practice, I saw vastly more cardiovascular disease that required surgical intervention. It’s tough because of the way I live but the one thing I would like to do is to drop 15 to 20 pounds.
Trump discussed the results of his physical ahead of the airing Wednesday of a taped interview with TV personality “Dr. Oz”.
In another preview of the sit-down that aired on CNN, Trump explained how he stays healthy on the campaign trail.
The Democratic nominee has taken three days off to recover and returned to the campaign trail on Thursday.
Trump’s “alt-right” fans have an odd fixation with testosterone levels, which is why it’s ironic that while Trump’s level is within the “healthy” range, it is below the average level of 679, and even below the norm for his age, which is 524.
