Russell Wilson says he’ll play against Rams
Seattle Seahawks’ Thomas Rawls returns a dollar bill that he autographed after playfully threatening to keep it after the team’s NFL football training camp, Saturday, July 30, 2016, in Renton. Michael started week one, but Carroll said Wednesday that Rawls will start against the Rams. When the voice on the line told him he was the victor of the Seahawks Road Warrior Sweepstakes – round-trip airfare, hotel accommodations and two game tickets to every Seahawks road game this season, courtesy of Delta Air Lines – he thought it must be a joke.
Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson will be playing in Week 2 of the 2016 National Football League regular season despite his sprained ankle. Seattle won 27-17.
Rawls will start for the first time since suffering a season-ending broken ankle in December. Rawls carried 12 times for 32 yards and had three catches for 26 yards in Week 1.
After Christine Michael was stopped for no gain on first-and-goal, Seattle sent in another run play on second down.
The plan Sunday is to let Rawls play without restrictions. Wilson took to popular social networking service Twitter on Monday morning and said that he’ll be ready to play in Week 2. “So I’m excited about it”. “My mentality was (I was) going to stay in the game and find a way for us to win this game”. Michael is projected at 5 carries for 23 yards and 0.23 rushing touchdowns. “Meaning, I don’t think they overthought it”. “I wasn’t sure when I would get back”. I’ve never gotten a chance to have all my family there. “I have a lot of great memories, very fond”. We have some unbelievable trainers in that locker room and training room and I was excited. “So I’m looking forward to playing this week”.
Fisher has acknowledged that Keenum is on a short leash, though, he enters the Sunday’s game as the starter. He has not worked a Seahawks game since 2013. He simply didn’t have the running lanes that Michael did in his time on the field. That’s a good commitment to the running game, but it wasn’t as productive as we count on. “I knew I wanted to play on Sunday, so I knew I couldn’t play in a boot”. I’m not anxious about it at all. “I don’t think in any way do we need to minimize what he has done”.
Wilson is expected to play.
“There wasn’t any shaking off the rust”, Rawls said.
