Teacher serenaded by students in viral video dies
A video of the heartfelt moment was posted to social media and went viral after country star Tim McGraw shared it on his Facebook page – it has been viewed almost 30 million times and has touched all who have seen it, as well as Ellis himself. We proclaim a God who sent his own Son to the cross to show us there is no fear in death.
The beloved teacher serenaded by an entire student body last week has passed away.
In a video provided by the Christ Presbyterian Academy, Ellis and his wife could be seen looking down at the uplifting scene, and singing along to the hymns of praise and worship. “Now Ben and his Lord are fully together”.
“I felt unity, I’m not alone. Joy”.
The school’s headmaster, Nate Morrow, wrote in the email to parents that Ellis spoke to the students outside his window, telling them that he loved them all. “He [Ellis] said, ‘I love you”. I wish all of this for you. “Look to Jesus to know, to believe, and to be filled”. His condition had gotten worse, and he recently chose to discontinue his treatment. The video was posted online by country superstar Tim McGraw, who said he was tipped off by a friend who wanted to share the act of kindness. “Peace. I also felt very loved; I already felt loved by God, but it was extra meaningful that God poured his love out to me through 500 people who loved me so well”, Ellis wrote earlier this week. “He, his wife and children are a attractive family”. According to the school’s website, Ellis taught middle and high school Latin and Bible. Last year, Ellis was diagnosed with cancer and began chemotherapy treatments, but that didn’t stop him from showing up for his students.
