Video demonstrates 2017 Land Rover Discovery off-roading ability
We know that Land Rovers are made to tackle the toughest environments the world can throw at them, but now a Discovery has hit the mark with some real tough cookies: seven small children.
The 2017 Land Rover Discovery SUV is all set to make its debut later this month at the 2016 Paris Motor Show.
“Land Rover’s design and engineering teams have revolutionised the Discovery DNA to create a highly desirable, extremely versatile and hugely capable premium SUV”, he says.
As Land Rover looked to keep the Discovery’s full design hidden from plain sight during its final testing, the brand enlisted these children, ages 5 to 9, for an art project.
“There is no better insight into the needs of the modern family than the first-hand experience we glean at home”, he added.
The new Discovery will go on sale in the United Kingdom early next year.
“They don’t always realise it, but these kids have played a major role in developing the new Discovery”, said Alex Heslop, Land Rover’s chief engineer for the Discovery.
Land Rover said the new Discovery has also been packed with technology for the family.
Land Rover has managed to demonstrate with these two videos the central plank of the argument for buying a new Discovery: it really can go anywhere, at any time and it can do so whilst enveloping your entire family – even if you have five kids – in a big Land Rover protective blanket.
It features a new remote control system that allows owners to configure their vehicle seating from afar via an app on their smart-phone in just 14 seconds, Adventurer Bear Grylls recently tested it in mid-air during a sky-diving parachute jump from 12,000ft.
