Ryan Lochte’s Dancing With The Stars debut disrupted
Pictures from the scene showed two men seated with their hands behind their backs wearing shirts that displayed Lochte’s name overlaid with the universal red “no” symbol.
Just as Lochte and dancing partner Cheryl Burke were hearing the judges’ opinions of their performance during the telecast, which originated from CBS Television City and aired live on the East Coast, one person or possibly two appeared to rush the stage.
Los Angeles Police arrested two men after they rushed the stage following the dance performance of U.S. Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte and his partner Monday night on Dancing With the Stars.
“An individual stormed the dance floor tonight and was immediately subdued and escorted out of the building”.
Four women in the audience, wearing the same T-shirts, booed and were shown leaving. “We didn’t know what was going to happen”, Julianne Hough said.
The two men who came on stage were identified as Barzeen Soroudi and Sam Sotoodeh, and they were indeed trying to make everyone remember a certain pee-stained gas station and how Lochte is unsafe to America, according to Hollywood Life.
Bergeron shared his thoughts about the incident on Good Morning America, saying he doesn’t think the protest will hurt Lochte’s chances on the show down the road.
Last month, Lochte was charged with making false report of robbery after claiming that he and three fellow US swimmers were robbed at gunpoint after competing at the 2016 Summer Olympics.
Following the incident, Carrie Ann Inaba posted this photo and message to Instagram, thanking the Dancing With the Stars security team. Lochte eventually lost four of his sponsorships and was suspended from the Olympic team for ten months.
Outside of the jail, the protesters told ABC News that their intention was never to hurt Lochte.
His stint on Dancing with the Stars is part of an effort to rehab his image after the debacle.
“I want the world to know, we want Americans to know that we don’t take what he did lightly”, he continued.
