Hillary Clinton Releases Letter From Her Doctor About Her Health
Mrs Clinton’s aides said that she would return to the campaign trail today.
After Clinton left Sunday’s Sept 11 ceremony early, a spokesman initially said only that she had felt overheated. But after video of the incident surfaced online, the campaign released another statement from her longtime doctor revealing Clinton, who had been battling a cough the week prior, had been diagnosed with pneumonia on Friday.
Bardack said that Clinton was diagnosed by CT scan with “mild, noncontagious, and bacterial” pneumonia on September 9, adding that she is taking the antibiotic Levaquin to treat it and has been advised to rest so that she can properly recover. “With just two months, sitting at home was pretty much the last place I wanted to be but it turns out having a few days to myself was actually a gift”, she added. “Mrs. Clinton has since been evaluated by me several times and continues to improve”. She takes medication for an underactive thyroid and a blood thinner following a 2012 blood clot in her head while secretary of state.
In January, she received treatment for an ear and sinus infection which included placing a drainage tube in her left ear, but a CT scan of her brain and sinuses showed no abnormalities. Voters say 68-31 percent that she has the right experience to be president and 65-34 that Trump does not have that experience. After keeping quiet about her latest health scare, Trump asked supporters on Wednesday, “I don’t know folks, do you think Hillary could stand up here for an hour?” Her blood pressure is 100/70, her cholesterol is 189 (LDL 103, HDL 56), for those keeping score at home. She has also had a normal mammogram and breast ultrasound.
Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are running neck-and-neck in a four-way matchup including third-party candidates, according to a national poll released Wednesday.
“Mrs. Clinton has been seen by me this year for routine care”, Dr. Bardack wrote.
On the other hand, the only information made public so far regarding Trump’s medical condition has been a four-paragraph note by his doctor, Harold Bornstein, who said he would be “the healthiest individual ever elected to the presidency”.
Hillary Clinton’s physician, Dr. Lisa Bardack, said Tuesday that the Democratic candidate is still “fit to serve as President”.
