Toothless Swansea must make more chances, says Guidolin
Swansea City manager Francesco Guidolin says Ki Sung-yueng’s “attitude” was “not good” when he was substituted in their 1-0 defeat at Southampton.
The South Korea global appeared to remonstrate with Guidolin and refuse to shake his hand as he left the field shortly after the hour-mark to be replaced by Jefferson Montero.
Guidolin insists the issue with Taylor has been settled after the Wales global was substituted before half-time during their 2-2 draw against Chelsea.
“This is not a good attitude”.
“In the last 30 minutes we saw a little bit of that, but we have to change something and improve because the Premier League is hard”.
The Italian confessed that the Saints “deserved to win” as they “started very well and played good football”, something he didn’t think his side did until “the last part of the game” after they were losing.
Guidolin also had his say on Fernando Llorente’s hard start to the season, with the striker still awaiting his first goal for Swansea having failed to net in his first five appearances.
“There is no problem with respect between me and the players; in this squad I have found good guys and good players”.
Swans now face Premier League leaders Manchester City twice at Liberty Stadium this week.
And although Gylfi Sigurdsson did draw a fine save from Fraser Forster with four minutes left, Guidolin admitted that his side would not have deserved a share of the spoils.
“It’s impossible to play three games with the same line-up”, said Guidolin, adding: “Neil Taylor will play on Wednesday”.
