Police union president thinks the First Amendment doesn’t apply to National Football League players
For the second straight week, Miami Dolphins players chose to take a knee during the playing of the national anthem, kneeling here at Gillette Stadium ahead of the Week 2 matchup against the Patriots and supporting the wave of anthem protests begun by 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick.
At yesterday’s game against the Patriots, three Dolphins player kneeled, continuing their silent protest of the flag and national anthem.
“We’ve asked the deputies and the Broward Sheriff’s Office not to do the details anymore”, Bell said, via the Miami Herald.
A Florida sheriff’s office will no longer escort the Miami Dolphins to their football games until the team stands for the national anthem..
The Local I.U.P.A. 6020 of the Broward Sheriff’s Office Deputies Association is calling on all officers to stop escorting the Dolphins.
