Delta Airplane Reports Close Call With “Unmanned Aircraft” Before Landing at

Flight 407 was arriving from Orlando to New York’s John F. Kennedy global Airport when it came within 100 feet of the drone, a source told 7Online in New York.

“Yeah about a mile back there was a drone flying just under the southwest side at the bottom of the airport here”, the pilot told air traffic controllers.

The airplane was making its final approach into JFK global Airport when the near miss happened. “We are investigating and cooperating fully with the Federal Aviation Administration”, said the spokesman.

The FAA said the drone was seen near the right wing at 1,700 feet.

The agency explained that the plane, carrying 154 passengers and five crew members, did not take evasive action to avoid the drone and landed safely.
