Dana White drops huge hint on Conor McGregor’s next fight
Admittedly, Mayweather has delivered higher numbers than that in the past, though only on three occasions, peaking at a whopping 4.6 million PPV’s for his long-awaited fight with Manny Pacquiao previous year, with his match-up against Oscar De La Hoya doing 2.5 million buys back in 2007, and his fight with Canello Alvarez in 2013 doing 2.2 million.
Looks like that long-rumored mega-fight betwee Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather is further from reality then many had hoped.
With the UFC preparing for its first event at Madison Square Garden in November, UFC commentator Joe Rogan recently said on his podcast (via BJPenn.com) McGregor is rumored for a fight against Eddie Alvarez for the lightweight championship. “As soon as he gets my money, we can fight”. McGregor said he had interest in this fight a month ago, which sparked rumors and hope that it might actually happen one day.
It was fun while it lasted, but Floyd Mayweather put the Conor McGregor hype train out of service on Saturday.
Goldberg also felt that Hunt, who lost a decision, would have been more aggressive against the returning Lesnar when they met earlier this year. “I was the first, once again”, Mayweather said.
“It’s so insane that when I talk about fighting Conor McGregor, you’ve got so many other fighters that’s in boxing that wants to fight Conor McGregor”.
According to multiple reports, it’s unclear just how serious Mayweather was when talking about fighting McGregor.
“It’s so insane that I’m talking about fighting Conor McGregor – there are so many fighters talking about fighting him but I was the first”, Mayweather said. “That’s the great thing about my career”.
