Tiahleigh’s foster father in hospital
Police have charged a 20-year-old man and a 54-year-old woman as part of their investigation into the alleged murder of Tiahleigh Palmer.

A week later, the 12-year-old’s remains were found by three fishermen in the Pimpama River on the outskirts of the Gold Coast, 30 kilometres from where she was last seen.
The 12-year-old’s foster father was yesterday charged with her murder.
Tiahleigh’s 19-year-old foster brother, has also been charged with two counts of perjury and incest.

The 56-year-old and 19-year-old men will appear before the Beenleigh Magistrates Court tomorrow.
Tiahleigh’s foster mother, Julene Thorburn, 54, and her other foster brother, aged 20, are continuing to assist police with their inquiries but have not been charged.
Detective Inspector Damien Hansen detective inspector homicide said the investigation has been one of the most hard cases he’s ever worked on but praised the work of police and the community.
Tiahleigh Palmer’s foster father has been arrested over the schoolgirl’s murder.
Mr Nicholls said he did not want to comment further due to the police investigation.
Mr Thorburn was featured in a Jimboomba Times article in September 2015, six weeks before Tiahleigh went missing.
Tiahleigh’s foster father had earlier sold the vehicle, however Detective Inspector Mark White said the current owner is not a suspect but “several persons of interest had been identified”.

Mr Thorburn was reportedly the last person to see Tiahleigh alive when he dropped her off at Marsden High School on October 30 a year ago.
The blue Ford XR6 sedan was seized by detectives last week and is now being examined by forensic officers.
Police have appealed for anyone who saw a vehicle matching its description on Kerkin Road North near the Pimpama River last October to come forward.
