Rousey roams to Brazil with plan to beat Correia
Rousey vs. Correia may be a big fight for a lot of people, but I believe Rousey will go through Correia like she has every woman that she has fought. On average, Rousey has won her 11 fights with 90 percent of the scheduled fight time remaining; only three of her fights took more than 66 seconds. “I might go for the prolonged finish instead”.
Ronda Rousey’s Mom, AnnMaria DeMars (pictured above at right), is a big fan of her daughter, but she isn’t too keen on her little girl’s plan for taking out Bethe Correia at UFC 190.
But in case you’ve been living in a pacifist commune, know this much: Rousey is the best female mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter in the world.
This badass 28-year-old recently was awarded the 2015 Best Fighter ESPY, earning yet another title to her impressive trophy shelf. She’s defeated two of Rousey’s friends and training partners: Jessamyn Duke and Shayna Baszler.
Unless she faces, and defeats, Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino, there will always be an asterisk next to Rousey’s record. The problem is that doesn’t really suit Correia’s style and even she can curb her natural instincts her movement would let her down. Rousey’s father committed suicide when she was a child. We’ve seen that. A vengeful Rousey expressing her violent wrath in patient, excruciating strokes? I promised her that I’m going to be fine. I’m just like, listen, just because my body was developed for a objective other than f*cking millionaires, doesn’t mean it’s masculine. I’m not going to take any damage. And if the images that TMZ Sports published over here are any indication, the film is really going to be…something.
Correia has kept up her tough talk in recent weeks, although the words sometimes feel like a negotiation. Yet no opponent to date has gotten into the 29-year-old Californian’s head quite like this before.
However, there is no one in the women’s bantamweight remotely close to Rousey’s equal.
“I’m gonna beat you up”, Correia told Rousey. So on Saturday, his aim will be to keep Rousey nourished, but taper her food consumption throughout the day – that way, come fight time, her stomach is relatively empty.
This just in: Ronda Rousey and Bethe Correia don’t like each other. And for those in attendance or watching on pay-per-view, the undercards will likely provide much longer forms of entertainment. He’s lost just once professionally in Brazil in seven fights. Elsewhere on the UFC 190 main card, Brazilian legends Maurício Rua and Antônio Rogério Nogueira collide in a rematch 10 years in the making.
Before that bout, featherweights Fernando Bruno and Glaico Franca will go, with the former a crafty submission artist who’s collected eight submissions over 15 victories.
