Paytm Knocks sponsorship rights for BCCI matches for next 4 years
One97 Communications owned Paytm has purchased the rights for title sponsorship from the BCCI for all home series to be played in India till 2019, reports NDTV. Importantly, it also includes all BCCI domestic (Ranji and Dilip trophy etc.) matches in India.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a tie-up with Paytm, claiming a 20 per cent appreciation from its previous deal for the sponsorship of home global series but the deal could not hide a few stark realities about Indian cricket.
We are delighted at becoming the title sponsors for all BCCI India cricket series for the next four years.
Secretary of the unrecognised Cricket Association of Bihar (CAB) Aditya Verma on Friday wrote to the chief ministers and heads of 15 states and union territories who are yet to get the BCCI’s affiliation, to raise the matter with the Indian cricket board.
The bid was opened at the BCCI marketing committee meeting on Thursday. We firmly believe the partnership with cricket in India will help establish us even further as the dominant mobile commerce company in the country.

Paytm founder & CEO Vijay Shekhar Sharma added, “Cricket is the dream sport for us in India”.
It is learnt that the Micromax offer was scratched off. “Micromax’s offered was not in any case opened after they had neglected to submit legitimate records needed for being qualified bidders”. Desai also said that BCCI’s in house TV production bid has been awarded to Zoom Technologies for Rs 26 crore. Earlier, it had spent about INR 50 crore during last IPL season.
Nike’s outfit sponsorship agreement is finishing in December and worldwide donning merchandise goliaths Adidas have additionally indicated enthusiasm for it. Presently it will be fight in the middle of Nike and Adidas in the not so distant future to secure the agreement.
Paytm has outbid Micromax to bag the title sponsorships of BCCI’s domestic and worldwide matches for a period of four years.
