UFC Legend: Everyone’s Seen Through Ronda Rousey

As long as she makes weight, Saturday will be Cyborg’s first UFC headlining bout.

The argument against the addition of a 145-pound women’s division has been a painfully thin roster of fighters who can compete at that weight class, but “Cyborg” argues that right now even the women’s bantamweight division isn’t exactly deep. It’s on Rousey to prove to her fans that she still has the fire to fight and defeat the best, because Nunes has been running through top-ranked women’s bantamweight with a vengeance.

“I think in a flawless world, what everybody would love to see is Ronda vs. Cyborg, so everybody is waiting – I’m sure Cyborg is, too – is the return of Ronda Rousey”, he told Globo.

“When that fight happens, I guarantee you that thing does over 2 million pay-per-view buys”.

“Cyborg” will continue to go through the tough weight cut if that’s what the UFC wants, but she would much prefer a 145-pound division being added to the promotion so she could fight and potentially win a title while competing at a much healthier weight.

But if Rousey doesn’t return, White is hoping that a few of the top-tier names in the 135-pound division will move up in weight to challenge Cyborg.

“I think that Cyborg has made it clear that she can’t make 135 pounds”, White told O Globo.

Former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey has not fought since losing the title to Holly Holm in November of past year.

“Cyborg is a huge star in the sport of mixed martial arts and in women’s MMA”, White said.
